GOP Identity Crisis

November 6th, 2008

Different news organizations are publishing stories claiming that the GOP is going through an identity crisis. One article was even titled “GOP Searches for its Soul.” Oh, please! The GOP is not searching for its soul. The GOP is an organization made of people. The people are not going through an identity crisis.

There are two types of Republicans. The first type are moderates–some would call them centrists. These are the people who are publicly and privately conforming to left wing ideas. They are traitors. Leave them behind.  The second type are conservatives. Conservatives are people who believe in less governmental control, big army, low taxes, and fewer programs. We want the free market to be set free! We hold firm to moral principles because those principles are held steady throughout time and culture by a never changing God.

True conservatives are not soul searching! We’re loading our guns (see U.S. Constitution) and hunting the moderate republicans. Brace yourselves! We’ll be back from our hunt in about four years.

Have a blessed week!

An Easter Egg…in Chrome?

September 5th, 2008

“A virtual Easter egg is an intentional hidden message or feature in an object such as a movie, book, CD, DVD, computer program, or video game.” — Wikipedia, Easter Egg (media)

Who would have thought that Google would place an Easter Egg in Chrome? As soon as I read about it on CNET I typed about:internets into my browser and laughed, laughed, laughed. Download Chrome, type about:internets, and enjoy your new browser’s humor.

Chrome

September 2nd, 2008

Mr. Parker sent me an e-mail containing a link to a web sotry about Chrome. Chrome, in case you haven’t heard, is a new web browser from Google. Here are a few links for your viewing pleasure…

Chrome – Official Google Site (click on Learn about Google Chrome to do just that)
Google Blog — Official Google Blog posting about Chrome
Chrome Book –  Official Google graphic book concerning Chrome
Live: Google Chrome Press Conference — Text updates from ZDNET
Meet Chrome — A plethera of blogs, pictures, and opinions from CNET

If you are like me, skip the reviews and news and try it for yourself. You can download it here.

You want my personal opinion of the browser? Why, thank you for asking. After taking it for a test spin on my Dell desktop and Dell Inspiron, I have to say that I absoultely love it. I ran a test on SunSpider and compared Chrome and Firefox 3 on my Inspiron. Chrome won hands down. However, Firefox came slightly ahead when both browsers were tested at SpeedTest.net. The SpeedTest.net test isn’t acctually testing my browser, though. It is using the browser as a basis to test the speed of my internet connection.

Until we see another change in the market, I will continue to use Chrome. I will not, however, call Chrome a Microsoft or Firefox killer. Here is an example of a man who writes a fairly good article outlining his experience with Chrome, only to add a microsoft killing comment at the bottom. Oh, the subtle voice of the radical left.

Until next time…

Banquet 2008 and Updates

March 18th, 2008

GBSC held their annual banquet last week. Check out a few pictures.

More updates are on the way! I have pictures of snow, space ships, a special motorcycle, and even a mountain. I’ll post as soon as I finish my homework. ;)

Cycle, Cycle, Bike, Bike

January 31st, 2008

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The sudden blast of “warm” weather encouraged me to pull my bike out of storage. It was covered in dried mud and dust. I am thankful that it does not have any additions of rust! With toothbrush in hand I went to cleaning. It now looks nice and shinny. My legs are begging me to hop on and ride into the wild yonder. However, my old bike needs new tires and tubes. Kristen and I stopped by Montgomery Cyclery on Wednesday to see what they could do for me. They didn’t have any tubes that fit my size wheels in stock, so I will be returning on Saturday to pick those up. I did, however, select new tires. Check them out! Can you believe it? They are reinforced with a layer of kevlar. What other fun stuff has kevlar in it? Look here.  Good times, my friends, good times.

I will keep everyone posted on the biking adventure. Give me a call if you want to ride sometime.
